James Kiwanuka-Tondo
James Kiwanuka-Tondo, PhD, is a Professor of Communication at North Carolina State University. Dr. Kiwanuka-Tondo is a College of Humanities and Social Sciences Alumni Distinguished Graduate Professor 2019/2020, Fulbright Scholar, and Carnegie Africa Diaspora Fellow. Among his accolades are the Jackson Rigney International Service Award 2017, Outstanding Global Engagement Award 2015, and the Lawrence M. Clark Faculty Excellence Award 2013 at North Carolina State University. Professor Kiwanuka-Tondo was awarded the Alexander Quarles Holladay Medal for excellence in research, teach ing, and engagement, from the Board of Trustees of North Carolina State University on May 4, 2022. This is the most prestigious award a professor at North Carolina State University can get. He graduated with a PhD in Communication Sciences from the University of Connecticut. He holds an MA in Mass Communication from the University of Leicester in the UK and a BA (Hons.) from Makerere University.
